Abundance

A3, acrylic glazed.

This painting was a lesson in layers. We started with a tonal ground or transparent colour – in my case a Burnt Umber glaze. Then we did a detailed underpainting in black and white to develop the structure. Once this was dry we used a thin, transparent layer of acrylic mixed with a glazing medium to add colour. Rookie error, missing the foot off the bottom!
