All about the eyes

I have a bad habit of wanting to be in control of where the colour goes, which means that watercolour holds many challenges for me. A Touch of Frost

I’m exploring the idea of landscape with different media. This time using pastel pencils. I’ve never found it easy to portray landscape with colour but the liquid amber tree in our garden is so gorgeous, I had to try.

Painting for me is all about recording life’s magic moments, like sharing a cup of tea in the garden with my daughter and dogs, talking about love, life and dahlias. This one was painted on a recycled canvas which makes for an interesting texture and a nice depth of paint.
